About

The City of Calgary strives to ensure all Calgarians have a safe and reliable supply of drinking water. Calgary's water treatment plants, Glenmore and Bearspaw, operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Operators, electricians, maintenance, the laboratories and administrative employees all work together to ensure the integrity of our drinking water.

The Water Treatment Division is responsible for the operation and maintenance of water treatment and transmission facilities. These facilities include the Bearspaw and Glenmore water treatment plants, the raw water pump stations at Glenmore and Bearspaw, and secondary pump stations and water storage reservoirs around the city. The Division is also responsible for the effective operation of the Glenmore Dam and Reservoir, ensuring that upstream reservoir levels and downstream river flows are appropriately maintained throughout the year.

Just as we do for our permanent employees, we expect contractors to follow the rules and regulations we have defined in order to keep all people working for The City of Calgary safe and healthy.

Always remember that as contractors for The City of Calgary, you are expected to conduct yourselves in public in a manner befitting this organization (refer to The City of Calgary’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Policies).
